World Of Warcraft
The Review
As much as I like this game it has become vulnerable to being brought down by heavy hitters like Star Wars:TOR and RIFT. You can only play the same game for so long.
Eventually you are going to ask, “Is this all there is?”
Had I not spent the last five years playing this game I would be just as excited to play it now as I was then. Warcraft has a huge following, so there are always tons of players online to interact with. A lot of games have superior graphics, and more detailed player creation. Warcraft beats them all in terms of gameplay and game replay. I have leveled 4 characters to max level and I enjoyed creating each one. In most MMO’s when you have finally reached max level, you are usually dreading reliving the experience with a brand new character. Or if you do attempt to create an alternate character, they will usually be abandoned before long.
In a lot of games you really have no idea why you’re questing. Why are you there? Why aren’t you at home or going to work everyday like a normal person? For whatever reason you are going around completing tasks for people. What is the ultimate goal? When you are playing World of Warcraft these questions are all answered. This is why Warcraft is so popular. The gameplay and storyline keep players coming back for more.
If you’re not familiar with Warcraft It has 2 factions, Alliance and Horde. Each faction has 6 Races. There are 10 Classes to choose from.
Warcraft has 2 problems. The first is the game itself. Blizzard has done little to improve Warcraft’s aging graphics. The player customization is pitiful, and no one at HQ seems interested in doing anything about it. This game was beautiful back in 2004 when it was released, but in nearly seven years, neither of these problems have been addressed. The other problem is there is a surge of quality competition. Even the free to play MMO’s have a high production value. and with games like Star Wars: The Old Republic nearing release, Warcraft is going to have to step up its game if it is going to hold on to its players.
